Health and Safety Training for Managers & Supervisors

Employers, the self-employed, persons in control of places of work and employees must comply with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act, 2005 and related regulations, in particular the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007.

Employers and self-employed persons must take all reasonable precautions to ensure the safety, not only of their workforce, but also of members of  the public and others who might be affected by their activities

Learning Outcomes:
This course will enable participants to effectively understand their range of responsibilities and conforms to the guidance set out by the health and safety authority. Participants will gain a practical foundation in health and safety management and supervision.

Training Methodology:
This course is classroom based; it is interactive with role-playing playing and practical exercises to reinforce the participants understanding and learning. The training content will reflect the work sectors of the participants. There is ample time allowed for questions and answers and discussion.

Duration:

2 Days: 9.30 a.m -5.30 p.m

Content:

  • Unit 1 Health and Safety Legislation –Duties of the employer, employee and others.
  • Unit 2  Safety Management Systems and  programmes
  • Unit 3 Safety Statement, Risk Assessments, Safe work practices
  • Unit 4 Emergency Planning
  • Unit 5 Accident and Incident investigation, reporting, recording and prevention
  • Unit 6 Promoting a safety culture in the workplace from the top down.

Who Should Attend:

Managers and Supervisors or those intending on becoming Managers or Supervisors. This can be for a small or large organisation e.g. a corner shop or supermarket, a guesthouse or a hotel.
